An Interview on Peace Culture, YG, Radio IFLAC, April 15, 2012, Israel
April 15, 2012: I had a rewarding radio discussion this evening with Dr. Ada Aharoni, founder and president of the International Forum for the Literature and Culture of Peace (IFLAC) and Motti Gerner, host of Radio IFLAC.
The station offers radio programming over the Internet on peace culture and related issues. Dr. Aharoni, Mr. Gerner and I discussed how literature and culture can constitute bridges between peoples. Our talk in Hebrew and English, related to my book, Rise, A Novel of Contemporary Israel, and Dr. Aharoni's semi-autographical novel, Kiruv Levavot (Heb. A Reconciliation of Hearts) and considered how the works might contribute to furthering coexistence between Jews and Arabs.
The interview, which is in Hebrew for roughly the first two thirds, followed by an English sequence, can be heard by accessing the MP3 file below.
Radio Interview on RISE and the Mideast with Dr. Yosef Gotlieb Dec. 12, 2011
During November and December 2011, I was interviewed on a number of radio stations (see schedule [to be linked to schedule box on right side of Contact/Events/Info page] ) in the US concerning Rise, A Novel of Contemporary Israel and my views on related issues – domestic affairs and social protest in Israel, the Israel-Palestine conflict, international movements for change and the Occupy Wall Street protests.
An interview with Larry Whitler and Robin MacBlane of WOCA IN Ocala/Gainesville Florida went well over schedule. During the course of nearly an hour, Larry, Robin and I spoke about conflicts, particularly that between Jews and Arabs, and ways that people of good will might overcome them. The podcast can be accessed here.
